GSD3 Tyre pressure

Featured Replies

Anyone else using the 225/45/R17 GSD3's? I've just stuck a new set on (2nd set of these) and the guy reckoned that they should either be at 30 or 32 - I've been running them at 34 for the past few years. 30 seems really low I reckon.

i run mine on 30.

no adverse reactions and grips well :)

im going to be really usefull to you lol or is that useless lol

a lil story goes lol

I purchased some bigger rims ..i asked SWT what pressure i should have in my 225/30/20and i got told that it should be what was recomended in the fuel flap?

fingers crossed this is true ish, but i put 34 in the fronts once seeing they always look flat and it felt horid , specailly with any kinda of obviously legal right foot antics :orb_hard_

im assuming they know what they are on about lol

but as far as tyres go , if it dont feel rite then av a rethink, spend what you will on the cars but but when the sun goes down the only things keeping u and al you wonga on the road is the rubber around those rims

Mine are at 32 and they feel fine :)

30 - 32 will be fine, we generally put 32psi all round on the Octy

The fuel flap on my 2003 vRS says they should be (standard load):

Rear 220kpa

Front 210kpa

Which works out at 30.5psi front and 32psi rear. I run these and always get perfect tyre wear. I'm on 225's btw.

Check the fuel filler for std pressures, noting that it's usual for wider tyres to run lower pressures.

Then check for evidence of excessive edge or centre wear and adjust up for edge wear, down for centre. It's how we arrived at the recommendation that T1-Rs should be run 2PSI up on book all round.

I am on 225 40 18 and ran the last set of tyres as it said in the cap. I found that they wore slightly more in the middle.

I now run them at 30 all round and so far they are fine.
