Brake pad sets...

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm just after some replacement rear pads for a VRS I've heard mixed things about the Mintex pads and am happy with standard pads.

I've not looked at going direct through the Skoda dealer but I've had a look on GSF and am a little confused. There are two different matches listed and I'm not aware of what the difference is....

64331 BRAKE PAD SET-PAGID OCTAVIA 1.8T,RS PR-1LE,1ZE & SENSORS 36.50

64332 BRAKE PAD SET-JURID OCTAVIA 1.8T,RS PR-1LE,1ZE & SENSORS 35.00

So whats the difference between PAGID and JURID? I'm safe in assuming that these won't be official Skoda pads but have read somewhere on the forum that they're manufactured by the same firm? (can't find the thread now!!)

Any advice is much appreciated!

Cheers

I dont remember the rear pads having wear sensors so not sure if these listed are correct at all. My original pads were all pagid tho. I run mintex extreme on the rear now which are very good indead but the only reason I dont use the standard mintex is due to the track work mine does, but if your just doing spirited road driving then these are a match for the OE pagids anyway.

The extremes run very well with Ferrodo DS2500 up front.

Hmm thanks for the info so the "Pagid" and "Jurid" is just the compound the pads are made of.

Yes i'm just running road miles at the moment, no plans for taking in on a track day!

I'll drop them an email to see if they know exactly which i should be buying.

Cheers

Pagid are a manufacturer like mintex, ebc, ferrodo ect. Never heard of jurid. You have to remember skoda dont manufacture all (many) components, for example brake callipers are either Lucus or ATE. Skoda just buy ancillery parts, maybe put a Skoda, VW, Audi, Seat stamp on and assemble all the bits together. You'll find a lot of Bosch parts if you look under your bonnet - lights, injectors ect ect.
