Rear Lights

Featured Replies

The rear passenger fog light is perminantly on and i don't know why this has occured. I went to skoda and they told me to turn the bulb round i.e the pins to be the opposite way round. I tried this and the light didn't work at all. So it's a case of the fog perminantly on when i have my lights on or no light at all.

Can anyone offer any advice to a non-mechanically minded bloke before i take it to a garge?

Turn the bulb around?

Wrong bulb fitted or you have it switched on permanently.

turning the bulb around wont work as that way the pins wont match the locators.

check the bulb i bet you have opposite pins opposed to offset, and the pins are the same distance form the bulb.you need the offset with one pin higher than the other, not the conventional stop and tail you have in there.

i.e. if your looking at the bottom of the bulb, then imagine it as a clock face the pins should be 4o'clock not 6o,clock

good luck ceri

i have had the same problem, ended up changing the Headlight Switch, which cured it, but dashboard lights don't come any more, so will try a new switch

Em, the Octy 1 only has an off-side rear fog as standard.

Found out put the wrong type of bulb in to relace the blown one. Had put the spare brake light bulb in by accident. p.s. my Octy has 2 rear fog lights!

It's a fairly easy conversion to add the second one (if not as easy as my old ZX which was "cut hole in reflector, install 21W bulb in wired up bulb holder provided").
