HP Printer won't print web pages

Featured Replies

Hi

As the title suggests. It's an all-in-one HP 2575 and ceased around 3 weeks ago to print web pages unless IE7 is taken out of 'protected mode'. Word, wordpad etc print ok at all times. I've also tried it with Firefox and the same prob occurs.

I've Googled this prob and others seem to be experiencing the same difficulty, possibly(?) after a recent batch of Microsoft updates.

I'm using Vista Home and the 3 potential solutions I've been sent by HP Help-Desk have made no difference.

Anyone any thoughts?

Thanks.

Uninstall and reinstall the printer?

Sometimes the order in which things are done can make a difference.

Sounds like a driver issue between the HP printer drivers and the MS updates. Have a look on the HP website for the latest drivers to download then try a full uninstall and an install of the newer drivers.

Thanks guys  Off to do a re-install

LATER: Did an uninstall, re-install and checked latest drivers were installed.

Still no joy :(

Anyone any other ideas. Thanks

Here we are again

Latest idea from HP Help Desk was to restore default settings for IE. Done, but no joy with that :(

Good news tho - the prob seems to be caused by AVG's new version 8 anti-virus (which I updated from v7 a couple of weeks ago following someone's post on here).

I've deleted AVG and the printer is going like a train :D

Will now go through other recommendations for free anti-virus.

So just a little tip if you are getting odd things happening and have recently downloaded AVG v8. Try deleting it and see if your problem is resolved :)

Thanks. Now running Avast and the printer is working as it should. Yippee :D

Avast there me hearties :D You know it makes sense.
