Had my 2001 Octavia elegance for a month or so now. Going well apart from the sticky turbo (110 TDi) and the remote not working.

The key is the 2 button flip key

What happens:

Key works full central locking when used in driver's door or boot

Remote does not unlock or lock car

LED on fob flashes when buttons pressed

Can hear transistors somewhere in steering column clicking when button on key pressed.

All of the electric windows work normally

What I have done so far:

Synchronised key according to user manual

Synchronised key according to thread on forum

Changed remote batteries

What should the next step be?

When you open the key, does the little glass bulb type thing look broken? If so, it's the key.

both keys look perfectly fine when open.

any other ideas?

any more ideas guys?
