Double Din Dash Help

Featured Replies

Hi Peeps

Well after abit of bad luck the double din head unit i have in my Fabia VRS has decided it doesnt want to work any more :(, so I am going back to a less fancy single din unit, but I have a huge hole in my dash:eek:, does anyone know all the parts I need to get it back to a single din, I than can put a shiny aftermarket stereo in. I have spoken with skoda but they didnt know what bits I would need for sure:thumbdwn:.

Right well I am gonna eat a cake now and hope.    cake !!!!!!!!

Anyone have the bits to convert let me know please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you need the bottom shelf/ drawer/ twin cup holders

the standard stereo

or an aftermarket single din stereo, cage, iso adaptor and facia plate

Sorry mate, not had a chance to look for that tray yet (garage is underneath baby's room, and I can't get the door open without waking her up so I've not been able to check in the evenings after work yet...) :o

Cool right well I am gonna order a tray, hmmm wonder how much the cup holders are???? I guess I can buy the dash surround for single din from halfords?

Get the genuine facia adapter from skoda while you're getting the tray. Only cost about £4 and looks better than any of the others. I had a halfords one, then changed it for the O.E one.

Like Joel says, if you're going to buy one, you might as well get either the Polo in-dash cup holder from VAG-Parts or elsewhere [£25 or thereabouts - link] (not 100% ideal as it sits lower than in the Polo and also not at the same angle, but it still does a good job! ), or the sliding drawer that came on the old Fabia Elegance...

Yeah, if you are extremely fussy dont get the polo one as it sits slightly in from the dash.

but I love mine
