vRS Value dropping with potential release date looming

Featured Replies

Just been talking to my friend at work about the new shape and my shape fabia,

he was saying he fancies one of the new vRS's if they do a petrol turbo, and then he asked how much i would lose on mine given i paid 7k on a 04 reg back at the start of feb 08,

i didn't have a clue so i thought i would ask, so:

when the new vRS's comes or we know when its coming, what will happen to the value of our pride and joy?

If its petrol I doubt it will affect the re-sale figures a huge amount as the sale of petrol turbo cars is on the decrease and diesels are more desirable...

Dealer told me last week not due until 2010 - a way off yet. He went to CZ and spoke about it there.

They will loose a customer anyway if they don't do a Derv option.

I much prefer TDi's.

Also been told by my dealer that there are no plan's to build a new VRS until 2010.

It will make very little difference if any to an 05 or earlier car.

The only ones that might depreciate a bit more will be the last of the VRSs

They'll lose some, but they'll likely gain some too.

I went to buy a fabia vrs from my local skoda dealer last week, he told me the same - no new vrs until 2010, though i thought at the time he may be saying that to stop me worrying about the depreciation of the vrs i was interested in...

Anyway im picking up the car on tuesday 10th june..

56 plate in silver with 7500 on the clock.. can wait and if it depreciates well what the hell, i intend to keep it for 5 years anyway!

I doubt it, considering most manufacturers have replaced their naturally aspirated engines with smaller, turbo charged ones. In the case of VAG, the 2.0 16v FSI has been replaced by the 1.8 16v TSI...
