speaker upgrades

Featured Replies

what size are the standard speakers front & rear in an Octy VRS as after changing the HU over, the speakers aren't up to the job and need some advice on what to get to upgrade at a reasonable cost and without much hassle swapping over! :)

hey mate am away to strip the doors cards off mine tomorrow and replace mine to so ill let you wht size think its arond 6 and a half inch?

hey pickendk, i'm gonna presume ur talkin bout the Octavia MK1

in the front doors you could fit 6.5" with spacers and there is also a provision for tweeters on the inside part of the rear view mirror

In the back on the sides of the parcel tray you could manage to squeeze in 5.5" speakers

In the MK2 both the front and rear doors have provisions for 6.5" speakers and tweeters but the tweeter sizes are a tad small so if you cant stick the tweeters in the stock location ur gonna have to arm urself with a blade and get down to some cutting buddy

if your looking to power off just the HU then something like the alpine type e are good as there designed for low power inputsm however if your going to amplify then alpine type s are a solid option, imo i dont like infinity (to sharp). only thing to watch is the depth of the speakers as they can catch on the window running gear. im running Alpine Type X speakers and i had to fabricate special brackets and do a fair bit of work to get the magnets to fit.
