Octavia Vrs tyre sizes???

Featured Replies

Hello all:rolleyes:, my rear two tyres are about shot and im looking at getting two new tyres, what advantages are there to getting slighty diff sized tyres ie 225/45/17, will it affect speeds etc, will it give better grip, protect alloys more, would it look really strange to have (to start with) 225's on the front and 205's on the back. When i got the car he fitted two new federals which in all honesty are brilliant although a bit noisy on crap surfaces, i really do send it on goin to work at 4am on country roads and i feel very confident in there ability, altho the handling has massively sharpened up also since ive fitted some cobra lowering springs, but ive read on reviews that the falkens are better ( ze912 or the fk452????). Heres what im thinkin putting new falken 225/50/17 (for better take off as i have to pull str8 onto the a1 every aft with no sliproad (fav part of journey)) on the front and the (5mm left) federals 205/50/17 on the rear and replace all four on the next tyre change???? good idea or not any advice would be beaut. Thankyou.

225/45 are the correct size if adjusting the width. On the plus side they are cheaper than the 205/50s that come on the car as standard.
