Wireless Printing

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have obtained a wireless router from work (one of the bosses decided it wasn't working and got another?????) - nothing wrong with it.

Is it possible to utilise it just as a wireless port for my printer that is in a different room? I know you can buy the wireless printer ports, but was just thinking it may be cheaper this way?

Bearing in mind I have a wireless router for my Broadband.

Ben

Unless it supports bridging with your current router, then no.

The Netgear GPS606 is more what you're after.

Ok, thanks, better to do this then I think.

OK another query here for ye tech Gods.

I got a wifi router at home which I use for the laptops.

I do a lot of (il)legal downloading too..so sue me..;)

I also have a desktop which does not have any kind of wifi capabality.

BUT.. I do have two router's.

One's an SMC 54 kbps and the other's a D-LINK 108 mbps.

My question here is, could I plug the SMC into the desktop, and use it as a receiver only so that it saves me the hassle of pulling a million cables all over my apartment.

I know the easiest thing to do would be to move the desktop, but then a computer in the living room to me is just tacky.

Cheers.

Zavo

If the router is connected to your broadband, then it'll work.

If the the idea is for each router to see each other, then my previous advice still stands.
