Scraped wheel arch!

Featured Replies

The wife scraped the front drivers side wheel arch last night putting the car in the garage. Most of it polished out but there is a bit about 1cm square where the top layer of paint had been taken off and it's quite noticeable up close.

What are people recommendations for getting it sorted? I don't want to have the panel (or even part of) resprayed as my experience of body shops in the past has been poor (badly aligned panels, blemishes in the paint, orange peel effect etc).

Are there mobile repairers that do minor touch ups in a 'professional' way, as opposed to my crude attempt with a touch up brush which is really only intended for stone chips?

Kill her!

That was meant to be funny (if you like Armstrong and Miller)...

another vote for chips away here. Used them a few times on past cars, and will be using them again for a small repair on my new car. Their prices have gone up now though because of the EU regulations on water based paints, but still pretty reasonable and they do it at your house or workplace, which is convenient.

Have you tried using the end of a cocktail stick instead of the brush - you can get some really tiny "blobs" of paint into chips/scratches this way.

I'm afraid I neither have the skill or the patience ;)

I will be giving Chips Away a call then....
