Octvavia 1.6 glx i 1999 V reg

I have just replced the airtake pipe and after irratic idling etc. it now seems to be running ok.......

Except when pulling off in 1st gear it just seems to splutter and eventually get up to speed. In second gears somes when you want to put the boot down it sort of jumps and then moves. sometimes when sitting waiting to put the accelerator pedal down it sort of moves down a spot and then up again on its own

Can somebody give me a checklist for things to look at? I seem to solve one problem and find another.

Mine is doing something very similar, the shop has tried new coil packs, new spark plugs and cables, new gas pump, new injectors,decated exhaust (it was clogged), new MAF and still does the same thing... i'm waiting for a new ECU to arrive and see if it solves the problem.

i'd recommend you to run a diagnostic and see if it gives you a fault in some sensor. So far the search in this forum for this kind of problems mostly points to a faulty MAF, so you could try disconnecting it and see if the fault disappears.
