Having part-exchanged my Y Reg petrol engined Fabia estate for the new 1.9 turbo diesel estate I am very satisfied (after only 2000 miles) with all except the noise level (engine and road noise) inside the car. I would be very grateful to anyone who can point me in the direction of a good sound deadening service. BRISKODA "beedie" has posted some excellent DIY advice but I lack both the time and skill that he is applying to the job.

Its bad to know that you have the same noice that i had in my Fabia 1.4TDI.

In fact except the engine noice if you are getting it from dash, its all coming out from the Blower kit. I did a replacement of the same and its fine today.

Tend to agree that a lot of noise comes from the engine and tyres. It is possibly worth replacing the under bonnet insulation with some more expensive stuff with the aluminium foil liner which may act as a better insulater than that fitted as standard. A number of sheets can be obtained from noisekiller (I think that is the website) one side peels off and it sticks to the surface. I put the same on my A class diesel and thought it was of good quality and effective. The standard stuff in situ does not seem to be of great quality.
