Engine speed input circuit!!!

Featured Replies

Struggled to start the car up this morning but when it did at the third attempt the engine warning light was on and the one that looks like a coil (can't remember name given in manual) was flashing.

I called out the RAC, and when he plugged his laptop into car it came up with 'Engine Speed Input Circuit' fault code PO726. He cross referenced it with Volkswagen and nothing came up against the code.

He deleted the fault (if that makes sense) and then followed me for a 10 minute drive, all was well, no further lights or concerns

I'll take it to Skoda dealer tomorrow, but was just wondering if anybody had a similar fault description come up?

glow plugs might need changing, that what it means when the coil symbol stays on

P0276 or VW code (that the RAC man couldn't find) 00543 engine speed input circuit, RPM upper limit exceeded.

That unlikely, dont think i've had many revs on in a while......well at least since friday anyway:rofl:

Last journey before it happened was to the tip on Saturday at very low speeds as car was full of sacks of rubble, so was driving like a pansy:)
