fitting 6 speed in octi

has anyone done this yet or will i be the first?

i got a 2003 tdi estate 5 speed. i also got a o2q 6 speed box with drive shafts, this box is similar to a o2m but with the diff bearing on one side longer, so the drive shafts are nearly equal lenght.

can i use the clutch slave from my 5 speed box??

gearbox is from golf gt tdi my car has modified alh engine.

car is my daily so dont want it off the road to long wanna sort the ground work then fit in a weekend.. any help will go down well if not i will tell all when done!!

We have quite a few six speed Octys on here (dont forget the 130PDs were six speed std.

I assume the clutch and flywheel and starter motor will be different the same as the 02M.

everything is different between the 5 and 6 speed boxes, literally everything that touches the gear box.

Well worth the effort though! Just got mine this week, (04 plate standard 130PD 6 speed estate - taken me ages to find one - ) Goes like a rocket or ticks over at 2500rpm doing 90mph. I am not far away, get in touch if you need to measure or compare anything for your conversion!
