timing belt

Featured Replies

I am about to start to change my timing belt on a 1999 skoda octavia 1.9 turbo diesel(engine code AGR)

When I bought the kit a note was flagged up saying to follow the lastest OE procedures and guidelines to avoid damage occuring.

Can anyone tell what the lastest procedure is? what has changed? are the torque setting the same?

Thanks

Do you have the timing kit for the engine? Have you done one of these before? You have to remove the engine mount and drop/raise the engine to get it out. You'll need a tensioner tool & make sure you set it at tdc, shim and check the cam via special tool if any doubt, you'll also need computer diagnostics to accurately set the injection timing after.

Greg.

Ps make sure the tensioner lines up withe the notch, not the xxxx hatched area, or tension won't be right on the new style tensioner.

Greg.
