New headunit not remembering settings :s

Featured Replies

Fitted a new Head unit today. Was quite cheap (£50) and im really impressed as it sounds a lot better than the octavia unit!

Anyway i plugged 2 of the octavia looms into the adapter and everything works fine.. The other loom was just pushed out of the way as there wasnt anywhere to put it!

Anyway the stereo works perfectly but when i switch the engine off it looses all the preset stations and other settings.

How can i fix this please ? i'm guessing i need a different live but not sure where from or where to put it ;) I presumed the adapter would take care of it all but sadly not!

Cheers people

Dan

You need to swap the red and yellow wires around.Should have been done on the adaptor but sounds like it hasent.Sometimes they have bullet connectors which allow this to be done easily.Check these wires with a multimeter firs to make sure you have the correct wires. It should be red and yellow but you never know now adays.

yep thanks people.. The only 2 connectors with bullet connectors were the red and yellow wires. Swapped them over and now all sorted :)

Really pleased with it :D Makes the speakers sound a lot better!

Thanks again :)
