remapping

Featured Replies

Hi there,i have got a octavia vrs on a 54 plate and have been told that i can have it chipped to 225 bhp.Has any one had this done,is it recommended and does it completley ruin the amazing fuel consumption you get from these cars whilst taking it easy,i understand it will use more fuel whilst hoofing it.My car has done 28k,

Thanks in advance:thumbup:

ive got mine with a APR stgae 2 map now and ive got 225bhp and 237lbs of torque and if im very lol VERY good i will get 37mpg or i will get 13 but hey :orb_devil:orb_angel who do you listen to lol

they offer a stage 1 which is around 205 , that wasnt to heavy on fuel but put the power delivery alot nicer, it seemed more notciable around the revs. you will no doubt get alot of folk helping you on this , obviously ive only delt with APR but people will have info on REvo custom code jabba and more, i beleve p-torque has good reps and aslo impossible and um? there r a few for sure lol sorry if ive forgot anyone

The 'ol 225 myth again with other things done yes. A map by it's self no.

Have a search on the site there more than enough on this subject to fry your brain by tea-time.

yeah sorry mate, he has a point, my 225 is with a full milltek inc 3" downpipe cat and also a forge fmic and induction. sorry dude :orb_scare

i have been told remap on own would get 220 bhp,is that accurite? if not what is the figure?

Hard to say, usually between 205-215. It may not seem like a massive amount but the torque goes up a great deal and theres extra power across the whole rev range to consider.

I had an APR Stage1 trial map, and it totally transformed the car!

No..... some have seen 215 others 205-210. But I think the rollers have a lot to do with higher readings. On an accurate roller I think the limit is about 210. It's a bit of a magical figure as the tranmission losses can massaged to make higher flywheel figures.

lol you could always get a free trial and that lasts for a few hours with most people like revo and apr , that would give you and idea on fuel, spend a hour being good and a hour being bad lol and see how the mpg measures up

:orb_devil :orb_angel :orb_blow_ either way go on go on go on , u'll love it

Dont get the APR trial mate!!!!!

Unless you gonna get it remapped by APR after.

I made that mistake and even though the guy who did the trial said it can be mapped over by anyone, he wasnt acuratee in sayin that as it is encripted.

I had to have the ECU removed and done on the bench to get past the security of the APR.

I must say that the trial APR was ace and mad the car seem totaly diff.

but I couldnt get myself to spend the £450 on jus a remap.

If you have the cash to spend though it is a nice map that is high on boost were as the one Ive got from ccctech is milder.

I like it but think I may go APR stage 2 once Ive got the FFMIC on when Forge finally get it to me.

the rolling road up top os the apr stage 2 mate, lots of fun, just nice and smooth:orb_cool_ and only £150 when you have stage 1 lol
