My emmisions light has come on on my 2.0tdi and fault code V157 (Intake Flap Motor) was found by the dealer. Just wondering in simple terms what one is, what it does and how it will affect the running of the car until it is fixed.

Very common for seizing up.

Sits at the front of the engine inbetween the boost pipe and the manifold just under the EGR body,

Problem is when they are sezed the fuse blows eventually, this magically also controls your cooling fans.

Crazy design to do that but i believe there is a simple solution to this covered somewhere on here.
