Octavia Tdi (110) misfire + turbo noise

Featured Replies

 Can anyone help, i'm tearing my hair out and i've got a skin head! My 02 Octavia Tdi 110, has developed two annoying problems. Firstly when starting from cold at 2000rpm the car hesitates or misfires. usually once it has done it the once it settles down! Also sometimes the turbo sounds like some boy racer has sneaked one of thise "Dump valve" things onto it, like what you hear on countless scooby's. Trhe car has only done 40k, i've just serviced it and it's immaculate in every other way. Please help!:D

Hi,

It could be quite possible for an air leak somewhere if it is making a whooshing sound or hissing.Intercooler pipe seal maybe??? could also be your hesitation problem.Don,t think turbo related:confused:

You don't have a general lack of power, or an engine management light?

I'd suspect a boost leak or a failing bypass valve. So check for obvious broken connections in the the intercooler pipes, and if not that, have the fault codes read.

I'll check that out then. There is no general lack of power or management light on, i have had it plugged in to check the codes anyway and no faults are showing.
