oil leak??

Featured Replies

had top cover off engine, and noticed a patch of oil?? under the air hose from the intercooler to the inlet manifold, the joint arrowed is wet underneath and an small oil patch where circled on the housing under the joint

should any oil be moving along this pipe, and any ideas where else it could be coming from as nowhere is easy to spot

any help would be appreciated as not had an intercooler engine before and kinda new territory to me lol

cheers in advance

oil being sucked through the boost pipes, its normal, usually drips from the lower connecting joint too, usually means oil in the intercooler!

Yeah, it's nothing to worry about unless you start suffering major losses...

Maybe also just the intercooler pipe seals are contaminated allowing oil; to escape.Had mine replaced on Octy and does not drip over other things on engine now:thumbup:

cheers guys, put my mind at rest:thumbup:

I bodged mines up with some Self amalgamating tape, never leaked since, also done the bottom connector, doesnt look too bad as its black but was a little fiddly.

Also no performance issues with taping it up

Guys I've been wondering, I've noticed a lot of Fabia VRS's for sale with a new oil cooler and radiator. I've had a brows through this whole forum but can't yet find out why this seems to be a common problem and why the oil cooler & radiator seem to be paired up for replacement!

Anyone any idea what this is all about? What are the tell tail signs?!
