fabia rattling from left side

Featured Replies

Hi,

My fabia rattling from left side dash. This is prominent while shifting gears and when sailing over bad roads. Is that a known problem.

mines the same. especially with the stiffend springs. stopped squeaking as bad recently. my dads is squeaking like mad from the steering wheel. sounds like the leather rubbing on plastic. hope you get it sorted!!

Mine had a rattle on the left. Found that if you put your finger on the upper glovebox lid and apply a small amount of pressure, it shut up.

However, I also found a second rattle nearby - the small blanking panel to the left of the air con controls. Found if you wedged a thin piece of card in the gap above the panel or on it's left (where it meets the soft touch plastic of the dash), it instantly silenced it.

Pointed them both out to my dealer. They replaced the glovebox lid (apparently there is a new design for this - dealer wasn't sure whether it was as a result of problems with rattles but one of their demos has the same problem) and removed, re-insulated and replaced the small blanking panel.

Not completely cured but now only get noise over really bad surfaced if the dash is hot from sitting in the sun for a while.

Hope this helps.

off to dm keith today to get it sorted hopefully. wasnt sure with my fabia been lowered they would say 'ooo well youve voided warranty'. so ill post back later to let you know :D

Hi,

My glovebox lid (Top glovebox) rattles slightly, as has any Roomster or Fabia courtesy car I have been given, seems to be a design flaw

Someone mentioned Squeaking steering, the demo car I had before purchase had this, but luckily mine has not done this yet

My dealer just fixed a bad vibration/rattle that comes up the whole front of the car at low revs that was driving me nuts, turned out to be the fuel pipes that run up the bulkhead. Along with some vibration absorbing (And decorative) stuffed animals in the door pockets, it's all fairly refined right now *Fingers crossed*

not too sure about the stuffed animals, may ruin the manlyness of my um.....yellow car. haha:D

Hi,

I took my car to the delaer and they say the problem is with the ac vent on the left which needs to be tightened from inside after removing the dash. My concern is its only three weeks since i got the car. Is it common to have rattles so early?

Hi,

A quick update. They say the culprit is a fan on the left side and skoda has asked them to replace the fan on all the cars which have rattle from vent.

I get a rattle from the LH side of the dash on uneven roads, but put a passengar in the passengar seat and it disappears. There's possibly a noise from the airbag/glovebox region, but one rattle was definitely the seat belt buckle.

I could book it in to have the rattles investigated, but I'd prefer to hold off a bit and have it sorted when I've a better idea of what's happening.

This has been happening to mine since day 1, I wish I had turned around after 50 yards and taken it straight back as it's been bugging me ever since. Been 5 times to Platinum in Bath but they can't get to the bottom of it. Taking it for it's 1st service on Wednesday to Turners of Earlstoke so we will see.

Rattling from LHS.

Does it happen when someone is in the passenger seat or not ?

Trying to trace noise it occured only happened when in car alone

discovered same as Little Jo it was the seat belt support adjacent to the

console.

"slight " adjustment and now it is ok

Is it finally fixed? I am facing the same problem. Took the car to Tafe in Bangalore twice, but the noise is still there. The car is just 3 months old.
