Busted cat

Featured Replies

Oh dear. I come back off holiday and within 24 hours of collecting the car, I've got two chips and a crack in the windscreen and a busted exhaust!

The cat has come apart from the centre pipe right on the edge of the cat - I believe the first 2' of pipe comes with the cat, so its new cat and downpipe time. I've been quoted £220 at HiQ, and £260 odd at Kwik Fit. Nationwide wouldn't answer the phone :thumbdwn:

GSF want about £110 for just the parts, so we're looking at about 2 hours labour.

Does that sound reasonable?

J

All seems quite reasonable quotes there

I bought a new cat/down pipe just after christmas. Most of the local garages quoted £200 including fitting. for a laugh i popped into my local VW dealers who have an exhaust place on the side, and they quoted me over £600 for the same parts!
