Fabia VRS: Oil Useage

Featured Replies

Just out of curriosity, how much oil does your Fabia VRS use? Mine hardly uses any. Is this normal? I thought with it being a high performance diesal it would use quite a bit.

Some do some dont, your lucky, dont complain.

Nope. Mine has used no measurable amount in the 7k since i got it. I don't thrash it about though, and when i do need to use boost to overtake it's always up to full oil temp(another 10 mins driving after coolant temp reaches running temp)

I wish they'd fit an oil temp gauge as standard.

Mine doesn't use much oil either :)

Mines doesnt use any

None over the 3400 miles I have owned the car.

Well mine is a PD 100, not a vRS. Had done 16k when I aquired it. Between 16k and 26k it used a litre and then between 26k and 36k it used another litre. Apparently that's well within tolerance (and it's not leaking or smoking) but I would have expected much lower oil use then that. Oh and it's driven fairly gently!

according to VAG exceptional oil use is over 1 litre every 600 miles...

The wife's vRS does not use any oil from service to service :)

About 1 litre in 10,000 miles of mostly motorway cruising.

Mine uses virtually no oil.

I did 80k and never had to top it up once :)

(48k in the fiat so far and haven't had to top that up either, and it has 18k service intervals...)

Almost none. The only reason I had to put some in was the oil filler cap rubber failed and so spilled a bit out. Since the new cap, no problems.

I had to top my Golf PD 100 up once in 120k, the VRS had nothing in 57k and the Roomy hasn't either in 21k. All cars have been serviced normally
