Door leaks...

Featured Replies

Just had my vRS serviced at Alex Lawrie here in Liverpool - it might be my imagination but it seems to be running so much better and it even sounds and feels better when it starts... awesome!

Anyhow - the printoff sheet indicating possible future trouble spots says that my rear doors are leaking (slightly wet carpets but no smell... yet) and there's a quoted price of £265 to replace the seals!!! When I queried the guy on the quote and told him that I believed it to be a common fault with a lot of Fabias he said it only happened on some and it was to do with the silicone seal perishing. So - is that a fair price to sort it? He said they replace the seals on all 4 doors. I'm sure I've read on here that the doors leak on a lot of Fabias...

Cheers.

I think they are trying to rip you off. You can do this yourself with a tube of bathroom silicon. I had the same on mine and did it myself. If you do a search on Fabia-vrs.com, and look for door carrier repair and they is a guide on how to do it. Hope this helps.

Wow!! don't even think about it. I was quoted £53-00 for both doors from my local Skoda 'specialist'. I just experienced a similar rip off when I took my daughters Daihatsu Sirion in for service. Stoneacre Grimsby reported 'rusty and pitted front discs' and asked £300 to fit new. These are on ebay for £45 including pads. We have to be careful!!

If your car is still in warranty let the Stealers fix the leaks. If not, definitely do it yourself.

Skoda UK reckon there isn't a problem with leaking doors on Fabias, but I think we on this Forum know different, don't we?

Well about 90% of us do according to the poll that I started a while ago.
