1.4 80bhp to 100?

Featured Replies

I just spotted a really good deal with some bohemias!

but im just wondering would it just be a simple map to make it 100? surely its the same engine!?

or is the 1.480 bhp the ones they use in the new fabias now?

A 1.4 TDI should remap to about 100bhp pretty easily

but thats not the one thats on offer:(

I just thought it would be pretty easy to just flick a switch 75/80/100

If the diesels then should be easy to get a nice power hike. But if a petrol then I'm not sure its just software...

In that case its like the early Fabia Sports, so it will be a 75bhp engine IIRC.

parkers say its 80, some brochures say 75, skoda uk have both lol :confused:other places say 80...im confused!

im guessting it would be a different air intake stuff right? isnt the audi A2 a 75bhp one too.

Early Bohemia 1.4 TDIs probably would have been 75BHP as that was the only one available. From around 2006, the 75 BHP TDI engine was dropped in favour of the 70 and 80 BHP versions.

If you are looking at an unregistered MK1 shape Bohemia then it is likely to be the 1.4 TDI with 80 BHP.

Then I think you'd be hard pushed to get an extra 20bhp out of it....

Intake, Exhaust, map, cam, perhaps some head work and then maybe - at a push would you squeeze some more horses from it. But in all honesty you might as well go out and buy a faster car for what it's worth. It'll still be a 1.4 with lots of mods that still not that quick and you'll get crippled on the insurance.

Ah, but the 1.4 16v engine is available in 75bhp and 100bhp guises. I understand the 75bhp was a detuned 100bhp engine to be more compatible with the auto box.

There was allegedly a surplus of these engines, hence the release of the sport and bohemia special editions, but even they went over to the 1.2 engine pretty quickly because the 1.4 75bhp variant was so unpopular (because it was rubbish!).

I'd avoid it tbh Leon, I'd be suprised if it was just software needed to take it to the 100bhp...

ahh thanks! :) 1.8t it is:P haha. the 1.4 would have to be 100bhp at least. in the combi it would take weeks to get anywhere. :(
