Bleeding brakes/ changing fluid

Featured Replies

Will be changing the brake fluid at the weekend to some castrol super 4.1.

Can you just bleed the brakes as usual or is there a procedure with the abs pump. I.e/ Ignition on or engine running? Or is that when you run the abs pump dry?

Cheers

No problem with normal changing of compatible fluid. Just keep bleeding until clean fluid emerges - you'll be surprised how obvious this is! Normal routine furthest first etc. With a clip on tube it's much easier to do than describe.

Use a eazy bleeder or whatever their called and just make sure you dont let the bottle run dry. Order is rear left, rear right, front left, front right.

Hardest part is making sure the eazy bleeder is air tight or if the bleed nipples are not so tight you round them :thumbdwn:

Well seeing I'm changing the standard brakes for a bigger setup, changing of the fluid seems the sensible option seeing the lines will be off.

Cheers
