v6 TDI?

Featured Replies

is it likely/any news that the Superb will get a v6 TDI?

D

Well they have a big V6 petrol, so maybe a 3.0V6 TDI will make an appearance :)

Would be nice, but the trouble is the current V6 TDI isn't that economical IIRC & future tax prices will nail you especially at a CO2 rating of 214 (g/km)34mpg.

VAG should be able to make it much more refined/economical to match that of Bling-Em-Double-U's - 170 (g/km)44mpg.

At the moment I would say the 2.7 TDI found in the A6 would be better & easier on the wallet.

Mind you the 4.2 V8 TDI from the A8 isn't that much more expensive to run than the 3.0 V6 & the performance difference is nuts - Real Wolf in sheeps clothing material that, especially in a de-badged Superb......:D.

That 2.7 isn't anywhere near as refined or powerful as the 3.0 IIRC.

And neither of those engines will fit as the Superb II is now a transverse engine so you can bin all the larger V engines from Audi.

If they do a V6 TDi it will be a an all new engine.

why have a v6 anyway?

the old v6 has the same power and torque as the lighter 2.0 170crtdi

It does not sound the same!!!

hmmm, droning v6 or screaming 4 pot

each to their own :)

Is the diesel v6 bigger than a petrol v6? front of the car doesn't look much smaller than old superb and it managed a diesel v6. I imagine they will want the slower engines in the superb rather than the premium ones in the audi's.

I can't see the point tbh, the 140/170 BHP 2.0 tdi will be just as capable and more frugle.

As said before in this and other threads. The new V6 diesels are mounted the wrong way round for the Superb.

Correct the Superb II is now tranverse sharing the same chassis as the Octavia II and the V6 diesels currently a 60 (ish) degree V6 engines.
