Fabia leaking doors

Featured Replies

HELP! this is my first time on the forum and my first Fabia (2004 vRS). i have read alot about the problems with leaking doors & i have the problem with the rears. i was hoping to try to fix it myself but unsure how to remove lining without resorting to large screwdriver & hammer. Can anybody HELP please?

I used 2 old credit cards (to protect the door and door card) with a large screwdriver in between them to prise the first part. Then brute strength for the rest.

The credit card trick also works for the armrest/handle removal part.

Thanks. Since posting this i also resorted to brute strength which worked on the whole but resulted in 4 broken plastic lugs! Hopefully will be able to replace.

Did both my rear doors this weekend using these instructions from Stu's Website:

Fabia-vrs.com - Re-sealing Fabia Rear Ancillaries Carriers

Instead of using the sealant kit that skoda supply for about £40 I managed to get some sealant from a mate who works for a glazing company. It's the dark grey stuff you use to seal aluminium double glazing units.

Took about 2 hours in total. 2nd door card is easier to remove than the first one as you know what to expect 2nd time around! I don't think it's possible to do it without breaking at least one of the plastic trim clips!

Still waiting for it to rain to check if it's worked.....

G.
