Engine Management System

Featured Replies

Hi Y'all

seven days ago I had a new wheel bearing fitted to my 1.2 Scoda Fabia Classic (53) at my local garage, (not a scoda dealership) and since then have only driven it back from the garage to the house and everything seemed fine.

However this morning when I drove to my local tesco I noticed that firstly the power steering indicator came on and then the engine management system indicator came on. When this happened I immediately noticed that the car was driving as if it had kangaroo petrol in it.

When I returned home I raised the bonnet and saw that the engine was rocking about as if loose in someway.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to why this is happening and could the fitting of the wheel bearing have anything to do with it. As you can tell I know very little about engines.

Sounds to me like it is misfiring, possibly a problem with one of the coil packs. It is extremely unlikely that this would have anthing to do with having a wheel bearing fitted.
