Took the plunge yesterday and won a PS3 on Ebay, apparently brand new for £235.00 which I didn't think was too bad!

Question is does the mics from the PS2 singstar work on the PS3? So I could just buy Singstar Solus for £18 rather than the one with new mics also for £40?

yes they do. In fact the ps3 singstar bundle comes with the same microphones.

before choosing which of the two ps3 singstar games to buy, some of the songs on vol1 are also now avaliable from the singstore (the singstore website has a list of avaliable songs to buy) so it may not be worth buying both.
