Fabia Vrs help

Featured Replies

My mods are most certianly declared, I consider myself to be a responsible motorist and cannot stomach the di#kheads who cause accidents and shaft innocent people through no or inadequate insurance. I'm also not some max power idiot who goes horsing round streets and challenging little chavs in their rusty Novas SR's and XR2i's (taking it back a bit there). One of the reasons I like my car is because it does appear to look pretty average but I know its not going to roll over and wheeze to a halt! A proper hot hatch it is not but lets be clear the Fabia vRS is both practical, economical and can be a lot of fun to drive with enough power for mr Average but with a few tricks you can have a bit more fun.

I dont think my original review was too far off the mark but lets be real if I could afford an Astra VXR or a Focus ST (and the insurance) I'd be rollin round in one of them but the fact is I cant so I'll make do with my Fabia and enjoy it, It has the ability to put a smile on my face and gives me an interest so I'm happy. :)

Won't disagree with that comment :)

What about the seat leon 1.8 20V cupra? i've seen prices for about 7-8k for ones that have done about 40k miles! and thats from a seat dealer. wow isnt that cheap? i could get insurance on this car as i checked, but whys it so cheap?

What point? A 220 nd 230 4x4 octy will beat a 170 bhp fabia from a standing start?, If I owned either octy i would be pretty ****ed if they didn't.

172.1 if you don't mind :P :D

40k miles 2 years old that's about 50% depreciation I guess... perfectly normal esp since the big engine petrol cars second hand price is not doing too well with the high fuel costs right now.

hi thanks for all replys

truth is from my point of view I dont want to be over-taken on the motorway. At least as much as can be avoided.

I did look at the Mitsubishi turbo and even suzuki sport swift but they are very small 3 doors.

my only other car considered is the toyota corolla t sport 189bhp. Although not drivenyet but will in next couple of weeks along with the VRS.

Hello newskoda,

If you don't want to be overtaken on the motorway, I hope you don't meet another driver with the same thought.

Suggest you find and use a race track of some kind, and race against your mates or someone.

Coming back to a vehicle that allows very few to pass it, at high speed is a marked policecar, or super-car some £180,000+.

Good-luck with any of my suggestions.
