MFD2 Problems

Featured Replies

Had an MFD2 from new, factory fitted.

Recently, well about a month ago I have been getting a 'NO FIX' message on the compass display. This occurs more often than not and is becoming a pain. Up untill then it only happened a few times.

I now have to carry a map and have recently had to buy a street map as my nav got lost!!

Any ideas as to what it could be?

I am about to take back to a dealership but want to avoid the hassle if possible.

Thanks in anticipation...

I'd say the antenna may be faulty.

Just to keep you updated...

Took it in to the dealers.

They have disconnected my hands free (hard wired) phone kit - it's fine now.

It seems that the MFD2 can sometimes play up when phone kits are connected.

Back to my blutooth earpiece for now then!!

What model of car kit was it? I used to run a SE one on my MFD2 without issue and to be honest I've not heard of this before.

Do you know what connections were made to the MFD2?

It's a Bury one, fitted by Vodaphone.

He had a few problems when it was being fitted which involved the screen changing colour (as if the lights were on). Put some other plugs on and things appeared to be OK.

My business partner has the same car, same MFD2 and same car kit with no problems.

My plan is to get on to Vodaphone and get them to re-fit..

Sounds like they may have wired something wrong then. As I thought though, the phone kit itself should be compatible when installed correctly.
