Looking for Best Ipod Docking Speakers

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I'm looking for docking speakers with very good bass and a well-designed 3D sound feature and also docking cradle can accommodate all iPods (including the latest iPod Classic and Touch) with a docking connector, either directly or with an included adapter. Pls can any one let me know is it available in online.

Give us a budget and i can recommend some.

What i would say is though dont look for something that offers 3D sound as that's just a marketing POS

The new Bose one is very impressive, i have replaced my HiFi with one, they are also portable as well having a battery pack on the rear.

I went to buy the the older version (@ £199), but after hearing the two side by side there was no contest even if it is £100 dearer.

Do you really have to use a docking station? Personally, I would recommend plugging it in to your home stereo system.

The one that looks like a Zepplin (i think its called the zeppelin or something) wiped the floor with everything when they tested them on the Gadget Show. The bose one didnt even make the top 5.

Its expensive at around £350

The one that came second was only about £100 so that might be the best bet. you can review the results on the Gadget Show website. i couldnt find it at the mo as my internet dongle is having an Eppy at the mo

Carl:thumbup:

I can also recommend a Bose, not sure if this is the old one compared to the one Gizmo is talking about:

Play.com (UK) : BOSE SoundDock Digital Music System For iPods (White) : Electronics - Free Delivery

Quite expensive but really worth it.

That is the older one i went in to buy, but didn't!

Use a standard minijack to phono cable. Set the ipod volume to just below max and turn off the eq. Then it's all controlled by the stereo/amp.

Or you do what I do and feed it through a mixing desk before it gets to the amp :D

I tried the 3.5mm jack to phono cable before i bought the iPod cable, both however were still quiet (compared to a CD, DVD TV etc) I tried with the equalizer on and off also.

Don't get me wrong it played fine, but for a normal CD etc the volume is set around 10, but with the iPod it had to be up to around 18 - 20 for the same volume.
