Does anyone know off the top of their heads how much it would cost to replace a Skoda car key from a dealer please?

This got lost on holiday and the insurance company have asked for a quote to get this replaced.

Should have said that I dont want to go down the ebay route but would rather a dealer

Depends on type, basic key around £40, if a remote control is required add another £45 and programming £30 all + VAT.

About £120 fitted iirc.

I lost my key at work, I went to the dealer and the dealer put it into a machine and the details was sent to skoda which sent me a replacement key a few days later for I think under £40. I thought I would need new locks but just a new key was required, so know need to get in touch with the insurance.

This is from only last week BUT this is for a Fabia VRS

Key Blade = 46.44

Remote = 37.70

Program = 58.00

+ VAT

Total = 167.01

Surely if your insurance company are footing the bill then it matters not the cost. Simply get in touch with your local dealer and ask them to send you a written quotation for the insurance company.

You are joking, way to much like I said in my post above, the dealer took my key to the work shop and they put it into the machine for the key code and a few days later a new flip key arrived. just checked my records at I actually paid £88 for it not £40, but still alot

Urm - I got quoted similar figures when APS had an issue with my original keyfob (they snapped it). I guess once mine's up and running again I'll have to get that sorted
