Repainting calipers

Featured Replies

So i am planning on getting some new wheels for my Vrs, but the brake calipers are looking a lttle bit worse for wear, lots of ground in brake dust and one of the back ones has flaked leaving the shiny silver underneath to show through.

Is it possible to paint them while they are still on the car ? or do i need to remove them, also am i correct in thinking hammerite smooth green is the paint to use, and what would be easier spraying or brushing ?

Many thanks MV

Best to take them off for repainting

Yup the hammerite smooth green is a near perfect match, spraying will give a better finish but you could use a brush

It is possible to paint them on the car but the finish wont be as good.

If doing it on the car then use a wire brush to take the crap off and then brush the paint on evenly.

It is possible to paint them whilst on the car, but take care not to touch the disc mate

how would i repaint my brembo's ?i would need to send them somewhere to get sprayed and re-stickerd wouldn't i ?

Not really, it will take time to mask every thing off before painting but it is possible
