headlight bulb

Featured Replies

could anyone tell me what sort of bulb?

skoda superb 1.9 tdi classic.2007

are they easy to change.

H7 dip beam and H3 main beam.

They can be done in situ if you have hands that are not too large, but i wouldn't say its easy.

Easy methods are

D/S . Unbolt the airbox from the wing, and remove the air tube that comes from the landing panel, 3 screws, pull the air box towards the engine, and change bulb.

P/S unscrew the cap off the power steering res, and pull off the black cover over the res, put top back on res change bulb and reverse to put back the cover.

a go and post back.

You don't have to unscrew the PAS reservoir cap in order to remove the black plastic shroud. Put your fingers under it around the neck and feel for the two places where it clips on. Ease it off at this point - easy.

did as you all suggested but also

undid the two 10 mm bolts holding

the power steering res to ease back

and get my fat fingers in.:)

If you get a side/parking lamp one go these are a bit of a pain, it's a capless bulb like a number plate one * not the strip type ones* anyway you have to carefully prise off the brass earth connection above it to avoid breaking it, and then the bulb holder requires a twist to remove it, you have to tweezer fingers to do this btw, pull out replace bulb and away you go Magooo

Yeah, they're 501's. A royal pain the behind...

If you think you skinned your fingers/knuckles doing your pollen filter (sealing), you should try this...

IIRC, I used (very) long nose pliers to gently twist and pull the bulbs out last time.
