2 CDs stuck in the stream player...Help!

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

My "ultra brilliant" 13yr old daughter managed to feed a CD into the player not realising there already was one in there (I'm told by "Mum", she was in deep ponderance over what shade of lipstick to put on):mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:.....sorry, I digress.

Problem is, that it/they won't eject, just "tac tac tac" noises.

How can I remove the headunit (OctyII) in order to get access to the CD player at the back?

Any and all suggestions would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

PS: Lipstick is now permanently banned in the car, and if your advice is difficult, so will 13 yr olds.

the only thing i can think of is make out of very thin but strong wire a hook and try and hook the extra cd out, once this is out of the way the other should come out on its own. failing this you could try jeweller screw drivers down either side and see if you can edge the cd back on yourself. iirc you cannot access the radio that easily if you take it out of the car but holding it upside down and shaking it might make it drop out too.

Have a vague recollection of a friend sorting this out with another cd or steel ruler with some double sided tape applied, basically stuck it in and managed to remove one of the CDs and then could eject the other.

Sorry I can't be more precise, slight southern comfort induced fog at the mo...

Think that was on a ford focus dashboard multichanger (see above)

I wouldn't stick anything in the slot, it's very easy to knock the laser head out of alignment.

Follow Stu's guide (Octavia-vRS.com - MFD2 Install Guide) and remove the unit from the car - no need to remove the hazard switch/storage box.

Once out you'll see that the front panel is fixed in place with four small torx screws - remove these and the front panel can be removed. You should then be able to simply pull out the second disc.
