Tiscali issues, advice please.

Featured Replies

I use Tiscali for my internet, and until recently landline phone calls.

Before signing up for phone calls I was paying £14 pcm, increased to about £26 with phone line. Had no end of problems, so beginning of June changed phone provider to 'Talk Talk', cancelled phone use with Tiscali and received a letter of confirmation saying my line would be handed over on June 11th. All seemed ok, new provider now running phone calls.

Received bank statement yesterday showing I paid £22 on direct debit.

Theire phone lines are impossible to get through on, 15 minutes on hold at 10p a minute then cut off. Is it likely that will be my last full payment, then reverting back to my £14 a month, they don't respond to e-mails either. In the event they charge me 'full whack' next month, what course of action would you recommend? Am I worrying unduly.

I will do the ovious tomorow and write to them, any advice on wording of letter and how exactly to address it, in order to get attention.

Thanks:(

just get your bank to cancel the direct debit to Tiscali, they can't take money without your consent

Cheers, hope not to have to do that, but it may come to it.:)

Don't you get monthly statements from Tiscali showing charges plus any non-inclusive phone calls etc?

If an incorrect amount has been deducted under a direct debit then a refund must be given immediately (but you must be absolutely sure that you haven't missed anything).

Hope you get it sorted
