Colour change rims?

Featured Replies

Ok i dont know how else to put that! And sorry if in wrong place. Drawn a bit of a non starter searching for it.

I just have a picture in my head of wheels that "change colour" depending on how the light catches them. Kind of like when sunlight goes through washing up bubbles and you get the different purple and bluey shades depending on the angle you look at.

Anyone ever seen anything like that?

Not really. Closest I've seen is a pearlescant paint finish, where it would appear more for the colour to change shade. Which sounds a bit more subtle than what you're after?

Only other thing I can think of would be a 'flip' type paint job, but not sure how this would work on a wheel. I feel you'd need quite a fat spoke design, so there was enough surface area to work with.

Steve

I have painted Some.

Not to sure of the make of the paint but the effect was Desert Storm. Orange/Red/Pink/Purple/Blue.

On a silver Pug 206 van

Painted them black first then the effect over the top.

It was on our works advertizement car and to be honest it looked pretty good.

that sounds good westy!

..... although i am now envisaging an exceptionaly chav car.... maybe i wont do it. Although maybe a really light blue perlescant would would on a silver car? Apparently i am not allowed to put pink ones on!

My Nissan had a flip paint on it (from factory) and this was painted over a black base, same paint could be applied to a wheel without to much fuss..

Shiney:) but those wheels wouldnt suit it. well i think anyway:)

Get something v.a.g ish and then get them coated!

I've seen alloys on carsbefore that have been colour coded so some bits are the same colour as the car:) looked alright.

chec ebay theres a guy on there advertising a similar idea

I fancy some anthracite octy spiders with a very slight gold flip/metalflake type idea.
