Flat battery

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I bought a 52 Fabia estate 1.4MPI last weekend and I am really pleased with it.

It's not been used much since April and it has sat on our drive since Saturday waiting for 1st August so I could tax it.

When I came to start the car this morning, the battery was flat. :thumbdwn:

I just wanted to know if I am going to upset anything if I take the battery off and charge it overnight?

Thanks and regards

MARTIN

No, nothing major.

Your radio should be OK as it's mated to the car.

Only thing is, it may drive like a bag of poo for the first few miles while the engine management sorts itself out, but that's nothing to worry about.

Hello & welcome to the forum by the way :)

Everything will be ok after.

Thanks guys, good to be here!

A little disappointed about the car but hey ho, should have it fixed and be raring to go tomorrow.

Cheers for your help, did not want to upset anything before I finally got to use the car

Left the battery charging overnight and was good to go today, first turn of the key:thumbup:

Hopefully it is not an alternator problem and regular use will sort it.

Thanks again

MARTIN
