Feeding boost gauge tubing into cabin

Featured Replies

Hello there.

Could someone with a boost gauge point out where they fed their tubing into the cabin on the drivers side?

On the passenger side I fed the amp wire through two grommits using the "coat hanger trick" but on the drivers side this doesnt seem to be possible?

Thanks

No - I've fed absolutely everything through a massive hole I drilled in the passenger side. Just easier access as you can easily get a hand down behind the airbox, and the glovebox comes out nice and easy too.

I'm sure some have found some way of getting in the driver's side, and hopefully they'll pipe up soon. :)

You can gain access to the drivers side if you take the wiper arms and linkage off, behind it there are two connector blocks where the wiring from the engine bay comes through. Undo the bolt in the one nearest the n/s of the car, there will be several that are not used you can feed the pipe through there. You will have to remove the trim on the lower side of the drivers side dash. It's a nice neat way of doing it and you won't have to worry about any water leaks from damaged grommets.!!!!

Ahhh. I too was wondering this.

Ill go the passenger side.

Dont like wipers, i tend to break them!

Is it possible to fit a boost gauge to a pd100.?

If so how hard is it.?

Same as a pd100 but it won't boost as high.

You go and buy the gauge and kit and I'll talk you through it. :) Would need a relatively competent mechanic though. Also need to think about where to put the gauge too.

I'm going to mount my gauge on the drivers side near the tweeter- just a swivel pod on the dash, I plan to tap into the plastic boost pipe at the left of the engine bay running into the 90 degree bend which goes into the EGR

oh and heres a pic of the kit I picked up... got the gauge and pod off ebay for £26 and the fitting kit from demon tweeks for £10

ive never fitted one of these before so wish me luck lol, but as I have a decat thought I'd get one just to keep one eye on the health of the turbo

went out and had a look today and drivers side is a mare... looking at going through passenger side... but how long can the tubing be from the tapping point to the gauge? surely if its like 8feet there is going to be lag in the reading?
