What tyres for Track?

Featured Replies

I've got a spare set of 17" wheels for the RS - and I want a set of 4 tyres that I can use either to drive to the track and then use on track or else to change wheels at the track.

Any suggestions for road legal track tyres or semi-slicks for use on the 17" wheels on track only?

cheers Chris

3 or 4 spring to mind:

Pirelli P Zero Corsa

Michelin Pilot Sport Cup

Dunlop Supersport 9000

Kumho Ecsta V700

So what are they like? Expensive, high wear rate, awesome grip, quick breakaway, exceedingly dodgy in standing water, OK when damp though, limited availability

Expensive: Cheapest of the lot are the Kuhmos @ about

Hey Mellow - Just happened to pop down to my mate Ian Godney of Godspeed Brakes - and he had a set for his old Cossie that never got the tyres on.

You might wanna catch up with Godspeed - they do some of the best customized brakes for beefy cars in the UK.
