Samsung G800?

Featured Replies

My Sony Ericsson K850i aquired a fault and couldn't be repaired so they gave me a new K850i but that wouldn't charge.

So The Carphone Warehouse have said I can have a different phone from 3 options.

Samsung G800

LG Viewrty

Nokia 6510

The LG is massive and if I'd wanted a mobile that big i would have bought a Blackberry or similar in the first place.

The Nokia looks like a step back about 3 or 4 years compared to the phones I've had recently.

I've had 2 Samsungs and they were nice and the menu seems easy enough.

Has anyone had any experience of the G800?

They didn't have 1 in stock so could only see it on their computer, the only phone I've seen recently that I like is the Nokia N95 8gb but that's quite bulky and has it's own problems.

I'd check the model of the nokia again , as the 6510 is ancient.

Sure it's not a 6500 slide?

I'll have a look on their site but I was in the shop and the sales assistant seemed fairly unknowledgable about any of the handsets.

After looking it's definitely not the Nokia 6510 but I can't see one on their website that matches. It wasn't a slider but it had a 3 megapixel camera.

I guess i discounted it straight off as it didn't appeal at all looks and spec wise.

I've just had the shop on the phone to say they won't have the Samsung in stock for a couple of weeks.

I got him to confirm which Nokia it was and it was a Nokis 6500. I don't think it was the slide version though.

I decided to just wait until it comes into stock as they've given me a standby phone which makes calls and sends and recieves messages. It's not great but the battery life is good and will do for a while.

The Viewty gets good reviews but I've never had an LG mobile and it seems massive, also with the touch screen it has more to go wrong.

That will be their Helping Handet policy.

There are no parts for the G800 to be had anywhere in the world currently but thats not a bad thing. The 6500c is probably a better phone over a long period of time.

The only negative reviews about the Samsung are for getting the settings on the camera right and differences with the menu making it difficult to locate things like bluetooth.

It's always the same with a new handset and until shortcuts and the likes being set up then life can be difficult.

I rather have menu issues rather than handsets being faulty.

Spares will become available soon enough.

What's soo good about the Nokia classic over the other 2?
