on button/slider by diagnostic plug

please can any help? ive been installing a new sound system in my 53 fabia vrs. while trying very hardly to fish new cable through to the drivers door i noticed this button/slider that has 'on' on it in the flap where the plug is for diagnostics.while pulling it to see what itdoes its come of and theres 2 contacts that was in there.please could any 1 enlighten me what this is for,and if important il need to replace it.

It directs the air conditioning into the cubby hole. It's a can cooler apparently.

A cracking good idea from skoda, I use it to keep choclate in there as long as you don't use hot air you will be fine.

Must say I too was totally baffled by that and rang the salesman at Skoda to ask. Even he had to get a second opinion!! It's a great idea though, as is the aircon to the glovebox.

It's a good point. Any delicate electronic items could be damaged and it is advisable to make sure A/C is off at the glovebox when cameras/ satnavs are carried in there.:thumbup:
