is this a problem

Featured Replies

not sure what it is, in between the washer bottle and the coolant bottle on the left hand side there is a black box/bottle. it sits right next to the power steering fluid.

intermitantly it makes a clicking type noise. when i feel one of the pipes coming off it, whilst making the clicking noise it vibrates. is this normal and what is it.

has anyone recently changed there diverter valve. i have just bought a bailey one, which is a direct replacement for the plastic one. is it hard to change, any ball ache problems.

and last i have just bought my vrs, its a 2004 with 40k on the clock. are they pretty reliable and is there anything i should be checking on. should the cambelt be done around 60k

The black box you refer to is the re circulater pump, it clicks and ticks away sometimes loud sometimes not so yes it vibrates as its a pump.

The DV nope str8 off str8 on, maybe you need to trim slightly the engine cover otherwise it can foul the pipe.

as for reliablitly they are pretty good, niggly problems mostly, have a cheack of your AC see if its working the clutch cog likes to fall off, if you get a squeek when shutting your door the rad mounts have come off on the bottem usealy and then the MAF senser can play up but these should all by now be changed.

first mate the clicking is normal, it is something to do with emitions i think, it is a charcoal filter iirc

the bailey DV is p1ss to fit, just remove the clips from the original and jubilee the new one on

iIMHO if it is not messed with it wont go wrong, I have had a few things done to mine at she is still ace with only one prob when the ecu was programmed wrong. my fault.

the cam should be changed at 60k or 4 yr i think? 4 or 5 ne way.
