wheels/springs/spacers

Featured Replies

ok lads/ladies if theres any out there on the terms of suspension im gonna get some 17 inch wheels now and i am just going to lower it with springs for now till i get some coilovers next year. The question being what is the maximum i could lower it by without any rubbing and could i put spacers on to to bring the wheels out.

Depends on many things like offset and tyre size and what suspension exactly.

Loads of info on here just have a search about.

Hi,

I have lower my car 50/40mm with D2 coilovers and have 18" weels with 215x35x18 tires, and the offset on my weels are 35 and i use 8mm spacers on all 4 weels :)

thats crazy looks so sweet, surely you had to do something to them poor little arches for that didnt you. You couldnt just put that set up on and have no rub or grinding

Like I said it all depends on the wheels and offset, usually you dont have any issues with rubbing even on 18's. As you provided little info on what your car actually is its difficult to provide you with whats best.

Dude, that is sexy and it certainly does it for me.

simple solution is 17 x 7.5 ..38 offset and lower 30mm.

its for a fabia vrs mate i aint no car buff all i no is i want some 17inch wheels and to drop it so there is as little gap between the arches as possible without any griefs or headaches cos from previous experiences thats what iv had grief and headaches. Rubbing and grinding whether it be on full lock or having some passangers in the car

If your not going coil overs then Eibach Springs, Koni FSD dampers will give around 30-35mm drop. Wheels just about anything VAG from MK4 Golf/MK1 Audi A3/MK1 TT etc fit and for what its worth I think look a lot better than most aftermarket options. Not to mention they are cheap as chips.

Personally i'd go for coil overs straight away if thats your plan. They can be had for circa £400 and fit them once, get it aligned and they are done.

5x100 - 5x112 adapters then.
