ESP Sensors

Featured Replies

Can anyone please shed some light on how many sensors are used in the ESP system on Octavias. A friend who has suffered a ESP sensor failure on a Audi A3 1.8T has been quoted

i would think the sensors will be the same on the audi and the skoda (fabia and octavia).

sounds a lot of cash that mind (enough to replace the whole system).

i'm not sure if VAG use the bosch system or not but i could do with some more info on it for future reference.

Thanks for replying Geordiesteve. I wonder if the collective have any part numbers etc for the components ?

If the part is called combi-sensor for acceleration and yaw - for vehicles with ESP - the part number varies with with Octavia model and chassis number. A typical part number is 1J2 906 637B and the price is

breakers then?

Guys, Hi..

In ASR Vrs models (mine 2002 ASR) you think that need to change the ABS controller to work with ESP sensors???

(Now they offer ESP for VRS as option where at 2002 wasn't) :thumbdwn:

Sorry

The electronic control units for the ABS system for cars with ESP, TCS or EDL all differ from each other and from 'standard' cars without those features. So the answer to your question, Lokas, is Yes. The ABS units are also different depending on whether the car has normal ABS only, ABS+ASR, or ESP.

So in case you want to fit it afterwards (ASR only) the cost is not only the sensors you mentioned but and a new ABS controller???

If yes then the overall cost would be VERY HIGH???

(Thnks anyway)
