Changing Oil Sump - Oil amount?

Featured Replies

As I'm changing the oil sump, I'll need new oilz , how much do I need to put in for a 1.9tdi 'x reg' ??

Cheers

4.5 litres IIRC (a big bottle from the garage / factors). I think you need the 505.01 spec...

Engine code ASZ 4.3 litres.

Engine code ASZ 4.3 litres.

2001's too early for the vRS - 1.9 TDI 100 is APD, I think, although the volume's probably the same for both... If in doubt, there's 1 litre between top and bottom notches on the dipstick, so add 4 litres, leave it to drain down for a bit then add oil 200ml at a time until you reach the top notch on the dipstick. Depending on how quickly you add it, it might go a little above this once all the oil's drained into the sump, however the manual says that as long as it's not above the 'kink', then it's OK...

HTH

I'd put 4 in to start with as above. Then if you need more top up.
