06/06 Fabia VRs (52k miles)...

I am getting a metallic whistling noise under acceleration around 2100revs which is worse when I use a higher gear. By way of example, if I accelerate hard in 6th it occurs on every occasion, but in lower gears it is less obvious. It doesn't sound like a turbo whine but I'm no expert. The car is not modified in any way and I want to make sure I get rid of the noise before the car runs out of warranty at 60k.

I am guessing it's the DMF if the car vibrates as well?

Mine also whistles under hard acceleration but I put it down to the turbo.

Have you run a diagnostics on it just in case it's thrown up a fault code.

If you try the search you will find that this is perfectly normal.

Mine whissles, but its just the turbo spooling up.

Its worth having it checked.

But before you take it anywhere, just make sure all the boost pipes are well connected, incase its leaking boost.
